This small watermill formed a single property with a house. During my visit it was in poor condition, with no clear prospect of restoration.
I had heard that local people could sometimes tell more about its history. I did not have that opportunity myself, so I kept to the rooms and milling machinery that could still be seen.
I use The Forgotten Mill as the name of the photo series, rather than as an established historical business name.
The milling machinery is still clearly present in the photographs. The large gear immediately distinguishes it from an ordinary abandoned home. In the adjoining rooms, the emphasis is instead on damaged wallpaper, ceilings and loose belongings. The building thus still shows something of the combination of working and living. During my visit, reliable information for a precise business history was lacking.
