These abandoned tanks had served as targets on a military training ground. Afterwards, they slowly became part of a greener landscape.
The combination of rusting metal and vegetation prompted this small series. Later I also saw photographs showing brightly coloured paint on them. That did not make the vehicles more interesting to me.

The damaged tracks and holes in the metal show that these vehicles had done more than simply age outdoors. Vegetation adds a different layer to the image afterwards. The contrast between a heavy military vehicle and the plants around it is clear enough. A photograph of an old training ground is not evidence that the entire area is safe or accessible.
