I visited this synagogue years ago. Pigeons were the only permanent occupants we encountered. The dirt and strong smell led us to keep our visit short.
That is why there are only these few photographs. Out of respect for the former users and to protect the building, I share no further location details.
The round window with the Star of David and the layout clearly show the original function. I add no more location information. The short visit produced only a small series, and that is enough. A building’s religious meaning does not disappear once it falls out of use. I therefore try to photograph the space without sensation or an invented story.
