Usine Verre Vert owed its name to the greenish glass remnants beside the furnace. Much of the former glass factory was otherwise already almost empty.
The remaining installation still made the visit worthwhile. It did not last long: an alarm went off, and my companion and I decided to pack our things and leave.
Stories that such alarms sometimes went unanswered were no reason for us to stay. The images therefore form a limited report of the complex.
The glass and remains of the installation still give the factory a recognisable material. Further on, it is mainly the long lines of the roof and supporting structure that remain. That difference allows both wide views and smaller images. The interrupted visit is part of the story: an alarm is no invitation to wait and see whether someone takes it seriously this time.
