Star Trek Church

This Catholic church acquired the nickname Star Trek Church because of its striking shape. It was a popular photographic location, and permission to visit could be requested at the time.

Just before we went inside, a local official approached us. He wanted to know what we were doing and how so many photographers had suddenly heard about the church.

According to him, visitors had recently failed to wait for permission and broken in. We explained that respect for buildings is part of the hobby. His reluctance after such an experience was entirely understandable.

The tall triangular forms and expanses of green and pink glass explain the nickname better than any story. The structure repeats along the pews and draws your eye forward. The same nickname is also used online for other chapels. I therefore do not simply adopt construction dates and architects’ names from a search result; the photographs must first demonstrably show the same building.

  1. We would have liked to have legally photographed this church.
Can you tell me where I can get the key?
    hoping for a positive answer
Best regards and thank you very much

  2. Beste,

Kan jij mij soms info geven ivm het verkrijgen van de sleutel? Ik heb er 2weken geleden gepasseerd na onze reis van Parijs. Het was een zondag maar had toen geen idee bij wie we moesten aanbellen.

    Mvg, Wim
