This small cinema in France had been empty for some time when I photographed it. What remained still clearly showed the layout of an auditorium where an audience faced a screen.
The switch to digital projection was expensive for many small cinemas. I could not establish whether that was the sole reason for this one’s closure. I therefore limit its specific history to what I found during the visit.
The staircase, rounded forms along the auditorium and screen surround still give the building a character of its own. The seats and much of the furnishing have disappeared. That makes the space itself more prominent. This small series contains only a few images: more photographs would not automatically tell us more about this cinema.
