This former home for older people stood in the Flemish part of Belgium and acquired the urbex name Rusthuis DN.
The building was almost completely empty. Only a few bats and pigeons seemed to live there still. There was little left to discover, so it remained a short visit and a small series of photographs.
The blue and white bathroom tiles are still present, as are the lines of the long corridor. Most of the furnishings have gone. That shifts attention towards what made a building usable every day: sanitary fittings, passageways, windows and light. They are ordinary features that receive little attention while an institution is still in use.
