I visited this former railway complex twice. The first time was in January 2011. Several rail vehicles were still inside the shed then.
When I returned in 2013, the space had been cleared. Household rubbish and other waste had appeared in several places. The difference was striking: the trains had gone, but traces of new use were already there.
A component of an old undercarriage tells a different story from an empty service room. With the first subject, your attention naturally turns to engineering; with the second, light and finishes stand out. The two visits also showed how quickly a subject can change. What had been a railway interior was later largely an empty space filled with rubbish.
